Equipment Repair Information
Epoxy Repair
Epoxy repair is used to seal and protect ski or snowboard topsheets that have suffered gouges, chips, or delamination. This process helps prevent moisture from entering the core of your equipment, which can compromise structural integrity and long-term performance.
We use high-quality epoxy that can be dyed to closely match your gear’s original color—though exact matches may vary depending on the material and finish. This service is ideal for riders looking to extend the life of their equipment and maintain a clean, professional look after impact damage.
Benefits of Epoxy Repair
- Seals topsheet damage to prevent moisture intrusion
- Protects the core from long-term structural issues
- Improves durability and longevity of your gear
- Color-matched epoxy for a clean, professional finish
- Ideal for repairing chips, gouges, and delamination
How We Perform Epoxy Repair
- Damage Assessment: We inspect the topsheet for chips, gouges, or delamination.
- Surface Prep: We clean and lightly sand the damaged area for optimal adhesion.
- Epoxy Application: We apply dyed epoxy to seal and fill the damaged zone.
- Cure & Finish: Epoxy is cured and smoothed to match the surrounding surface as close as possible.
P-Tex Base Repair
P-Tex base repair is used to fill and seal gouges on the underside of skis and snowboards. P-Tex is a low molecular weight polyethylene, similar to the material used in ski and snowboard bases, which makes it ideal for restoring glide performance without compromising flexibility.
Unlike epoxy, P-Tex bonds well to the base and retains wax, making it the preferred choice for repairing base damage. This service helps maintain smooth glide, protects the core from moisture, and extends the life of your equipment after impact with rocks or hard terrain.
Benefits of P-Tex Base Repair
- Fills gouges and scrapes for a smoother base finish
- Flexible material that moves with the ski or snowboard
- Compatible with wax for restored glide performance
- Protects the core from moisture and long-term damage
- Ideal for repairing minor to moderate base damage
How We Perform P-Tex Repair
- Damage Assessment: We inspect the base for gouges and scrapes that require filling.
- Surface Prep: We clean and smooth the damaged area to ensure proper bonding.
- P-Tex Application: We melt P-Tex into the gouge using a controlled application.
- Base Prep: Once cured, we expose fresh base material through belt resurfacing.
- Scrape & Finish: We scrape and polish the repair for a smooth, wax-ready surface.
- Hot Wax: We apply hot wax with a tuning iron and scrape the wax to complete the tune. This is done when a P-Tex is paired with a tune package.
